LuxRender v0.5 macosx intel wxwidgets static (7.1MB)

This package is known to work on MacOS X 10.5 / Leopard intel 32bit. If you are using an older version of OS X, please use the version listed under Download#LuxRender_-_development_version instead.

To install the program, unzip the archive, and copy the 'luxrender' and 'wxluxgui' files to your applications folder and copy 'luxconsole' to your '/usr/local/bin' folder. Use the 'wxluxgui' if you want to use the new graphical interface; in case you experience problems using this interface, usee 'luxrender' instead.

A separate updated blender exporter has been provided to allow launching the new gui on mac os X: LuxBlend v0.5 macosx intel wxwidgets (35KB)

For a version of LuxRender for Apple computers with G4 or G5 processors, see the development version section of this page.

32 bit and 64 bit binaries are available. If you run into any issues (which is possible due to differences between distributions) you can compile LuxRender yourself by following the following Building on Linux page.

LuxRender - development version

Development versions of LuxRender contain the improvements that have been made since the most recent official release, but as they are snapshots of a work in progress, certain functionality may not function.

Windows

Development versions of LuxRender for Windows are regularly posted on our forum; please check weekly CVS builds forum for the latest version.

OS X

for OS X 10.5 (Leopard) on Intel:http://www.jensverwiebe.de/Jens%20Verwiebe/temp/Lux-OSX-intel-Leopard-cvs-02-08-08.zip
for OS X 10.4 (Tiger) on Intel: http://www.jensverwiebe.de/Jens%20Verwiebe/temp/Lux-OSX-intel-Tiger-cvs-08-08-08.zip
for OS X PPC 10.4 (Tiger) on G4/G5: http://www.jensverwiebe.de/Jens%20Verwiebe/temp/lux-osx-ppc-cvs-02-08-08.zip

When using a development version of LuxRender, please make sure to use a development version of an exporter (when available), too. For further details and feedback, please visit the compilation and portability section of the forum.

LuxRender for OS X 10.4 on Intel processors has not been extensively tested yet; if you are running such a system, please report your experiences on the forum. Using the version for PowerPC should work using Rosetta, but will result in slow performance.

Linux

Binaries of development versions for Linux are not provided; please follow the instructions at Building on Linux or use a stable version instead.
