| Summary | 0001096: Eliminate "yes/no" labels in "stop render and start a new one" dialogue | ||||||||
| Description | When opening a scene file while another render is in progress, LuxRender will pop up a dialogue asking the user if they would like to stop the current render and start a new one. However, the buttons are labeled "yes" and "no". They should be something more descriptive that does not require the user to carefully read the dialogue, such as "Start new" and "Continue current". A screenshot of the offending dialogue is attached. | ||||||||

Patch A implements the change as requested. Patch B simplifies the current prompt and is my personal preference. |

Patch B has yes/no dialog boxes still. That's the crux of the issue, labeling buttons with "Yes" and "No" is rarely a good idea. It's better to label them with an action verb of what clicking said button will do. |

I submitted both ways because I do not like the phrasing in Patch B and could not think of any that looked right. What do you think of changing the message to 'Loading a new scene will halt rendering of the current scene. Do you wish to continue?' and using 'Load new scene' for the first button and 'Cancel' for the second? |

Thanks for the patch. Based on your patch I created a slightly more general function, and implemented the change using this. I think we could use it to improve some of our other dialogs as well. I also changed the wording slightly, feedback welcome :) |

New dialog looks great. :) |
