i've been thinking lately about some kind of tile/brick generator texture.

Most of it is actually your concrete texture, so award yourself 1/2 the credit for this :)

I did try to make a tile pattern my variously mixing offset checkerboards, but it's not possible... so +1 for a tile generator.
