Got it to build correctly but now all my 3d apps segfault... including luxmark and blender.... trying to narrow it down to the shared libs freeglut or opencl which I installed...

maybe should make a note in: CHAPTER 3 DOWNLOAD AND BUILD OPENCL SDK

Do not "make install" the OpenCL SDK - it will overwrite yoru system /usr/lib/libOpenCL.so and cause everything to crash, I had to reinstall my graphics drivers to get the file back :)

If you install AMD OpenCL SDK, you end with a mixed installation where you have one version of the X11 drivers and another version of system /usr/lib/libOpenCL.so, this is the source of the mess ... in my opinion, AMD should not include old driver in OpenCL SDK at all (now that the most updated version is always included with X11 drivers).
