HI Freaks001,

I deleted my SU2LUX installation and to use the one in the repository, but the error doesn't show up.
Could you please write which Sketchup version you are using as well as which operating system?
Freaks001 wrote:and another thing, every times I render using yafaray (for quick preview), su2lux its always fail to export, (I use to use Lux for final render),is this always happen  ? or I shouldn't use another rendering engine in the same scene?

I don't use yafaray, but it would be helpful if you could reproduce the error and copy the console output, just to understand what's happening under the hood. ;)
Happy rendering

Yafaray and su2lux both use same class name for MeshCollector. you cant have them both installed at the same time.

Yafaray, su2lux and su2slg share this class name and they clash.

I got a version of SU2lux forked from official with only changes that this clash is resolved, instances ans ply meshes are supported.
It does not have the latest material enhancement. I usually write those by hand or rip them from blender export anyway.

Ill try and fix a version of SU2SLG up for the latest stuff in SLG 2

oh ok.. I will keep the one who have that material exporting on it( coz I'm completely clueless about blender  ( i did install it though, with hope someday I'll be able to use it and know how to use it ;) ) , and anyway I remove the SU2SLG just from now, but I still looking forward for using it someday ( it does look awesome for presentation :D )

Im quite poor with the technical side... :P
but is there a way that the blender exporters material portion (which is pretty complete) could be used with su2lux?
for example i cannot use pnga textures as alpha doesnt render out?

i have tried export-> collada(.dae) and import into blender but it is a very inefficient solution and doesnt always work :P

Hi,

Forgive me for being dumb, but I cannot find how to use the material editor?

I was trying to export some transparent materials (particulary interested in caustics) but when I set the material to a sketchup translucent material, it does not render transparent in Luxrender?

Thanks and sorry again for my newbyness.

I tried SU2LUX Exporter for Sketchup ( i think its the latest version from http://src.luxrender.net/su2lux/ )
with Sketchup 8 on Mac Snow Leopard.

Apperently my sketch'ed drawing causes an infinite loop when I try to edit a material using the Material Editor
and save my changes to the model !?!?
I observe that once pushing "save to model" button the memory consumption of Sketchup increases constantly, it does not respond, the Ruby console
is updated very rarely and eventually Sketchup crashes ( after mem usage has exceeded several GB ).

Could there be any recursive references in my model that trick su2lux into recursive calls ??

I'm currently trying to add debug output to the ruby script. But since I'm new to Ruby this did not result in any clue yet...

Hi fuzz,
I haven't tested the exporter on an OS X installation. yet; anyway the behaviour you are reporting makes me think of events triggering each other in loop.
Does this happens whenever you save a material, or for some specific scenes/materials?

As you may have noticed SU2LUX development is discontinued; personally I can't devote any time to it at the moment, although I am still thinking of ways to improve the codebase.

Bye,
Mimmo
