SmallLuxGPU 2 large scale rigid body physics animation test

Postby Chiaroscuro » Thu Mar 08, 2012 1:55 pm

Silly test physics simulation animation with 32200 planks (objects):
Youtube: Over 32000 planks ;-)
(expand YouTube description for info...)
Rendered overnight on SLG2 using SLG Live! at 20 seconds per HD frame (i7 720 CPU + 2 HD4890 GPUs); plenty for distance shot, barely enough for close-ups.

First or later we must knock at AMD door and say: " Hi Mr. AMD, Bullet Engine has recently introduced the support for rigid body simulation with OpenCL, we add real-time OpenCL path tracing, you add some server with a retarded number of PCIe slots and GPUs and we obtain one of the most cool demo ever seen" ... the demo will be then used by Mr. AMD's son to crash castles of planks all days

Hi,

Next step: a virtual domino day event and let's blow out their record! ;)

Hmmm, Structure Synth + physics, sounds very interesting. Has it been done?

Google doesn't shows up anything relevant. You can be the first one to do it. :)
