Japanese lampshade

Postby Piita » Tue Feb 28, 2012 4:30 am

I have always been fascinated by Japanese interiors. Their neatness and rectangular forms just look so good. And renders like Sattvas pile of gold makes me go "wow".
So here is just a little attempt at creating something Japanese'ish. A lamp. The rest of the scene will contain stuff from my culture. Things reflecting in the mirrors are still missing. The table is meant to be laminated beech. All textures are from Plaintextures.com.

Very nice. The lamp looks so calm and relaxing.

Looks very good! How is the lampshade made? With the Matte Translucent material? Maybe you can turn off the lights except the japanese lamp as a night-test :).

I finished this scene some time ago. You can find the final render in the gallery. Currently in User Uploads.
The lampshade is a matte translucent material. If you want to render a dark version yourself you can find the complete blend file here.
