LuxRender 0.9dev Mac OS X 64bit - Jan 19th 2012

W00t! New build!

Get it here: http://graphicall.org/78/

What's new:

-Jens has fixed the Pylux issues we had last week. (We hope. Let us know if anything else isn't working). Also, the LuxBlend packaging issues should be fixed. (as always, luxblend is here for the convenience of the blender users, as they are many. If you use another 3D app, you can just ignore the luxblend26 folder)

-LordCrc and Omniflux have fixed a couple of bugs, namely issues where the queue would be cleared when it shouldn't be, and issues with random seeds. They also fixed up the "warning, stop render and start a new one?" message, it no longer has yes/no buttons. :)

-LordCrc also fixed a missing clamp that could cause a negative spectral color during certain extreme RGB conversions. Finally, he also tweaked the auto-linear tonemapper to only computer luminance based on pixels that have already been rendered. Should improve its accuracy early on in the render, particularly when using random/lowdiscrepancy samplers

Hi everyone.

I am having problems when, in Blender, select the tab "materials", then Blender crash...
This is the error I get at the console:

- Rendering preview material: Material.001
- Segmentation fault: 11

Any idea?

Regards & Thanks in advance for the help and for all the wonderful work!

Could it be Jason had erratically LTO set to "ON" ?

I changed the default to "OFF" now, to be on the safe side also for unexperienced builders.

I've had this issue with certain builds from graphicall. Decamino, are you using a build from there? If so, which one?

(LTO SHOULD be off)

Hi,

Yeah, I'm using the 2.61.3 r43554 (http://www.graphicall.org/592)
I tried with other ones of Graphicall.org and have the same issue...

Which version should I use?

The 2.61 Official: http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/ Mac OS X 10.6+ 64 bits did not work for me:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/Applications/[3D]/Blender/blender-2.61-release-OSX_10.6_x86_64/blender.app/Contents/MacOS/2.61/scripts/modules/addon_utils.py", line 259, in enable

from . import core
File "/Applications/[3D]/Blender/Scripts/addons/luxrender/core/__init__.py", line 76, in <module>
from .. import operators
ImportError: cannot import name operators

Regards & Thanks! (sorry about my english...)

Daniel.

This one seems to be working: http://www.graphicall.org/400 (I've had a lot of luck with that guy's builds in the past too)

Btw, does the LuxRender GUI work ok for you?

Yeah, in fact I'm using your previous LuxBlend version with the 2.60.7 r42497 Blender version, and every thing works fine.

I'm just trying to use this new build (http://graphicall.org/78/) but I can't find a Blender version that work with it...

The one you give me: http://www.graphicall.org/400 definitely does not work for me:

Posted this on a Linux thread : viewtopic.php?f=16&t=7570&p=76769#p76769

Reverting back to this build fixes the material panel : http://www.graphicall.org/400

I just tried to install this build with Blender 2.61. I was really looking forward to finally using Luxrender with Blender 2.61. But i'm stuck with the error of not being able to activate LuxBlend. I ran into the same issue with 2.60, and therefore stayed at Blender 2.59.

The workaround proposed on http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/LuxBlend_ ... structions is not working as well. When i try it, the checkbox of the blender addon is checked, but Luxrender still does not show up in Blenders engine-dropdown-menu.

I found a lot of posts proposing to use the latest luxblend version (i assume this one should be pretty close) or to install pylux.so and liblux.dylib with luxblend (but as far as i can see those files are already in the package). What else can be done about it? Which information do i have to provide to help you solve that issue?

*edit: when i use the build mentioned by volivier i get a segmentation fault error. Almost a classic by now, judging by the other forum entries... :D

I revived my weekly/monthly build-thread and posted now a matched pair of LuxRender/Blender development snapshots.
