I am c4d (v11.5) usrer and i render using existing exporter 0.08 with the newest version of luxrender (o.9dev for windows) .I would like to know is there any chance for new c4d exporter wich will take advantage of the new functions in luxrender?

Hi,

Unfortunately LuxC4D developer is now working on a commercial renderer and is no longer supporting this exporter. I'm not aware of another developer having C4D to update the current code. If someone reads this and wants to continue the development, feel free to contact me.

Hi,
Thanks for your quick reply Jeanphi. Unfortunately i can't help because I don't have experience and skills in programming, coding. I am an architect :) But, it would be great if someone could do this.

Hi,

I don't work for Refractive anymore. I'm currently working on a little private fun project, but might continue working on LuxC4D again some time in the not too distant future, if there is enough people who would like to see it updated. Of course, if someone else wants to take over, the source is available in the LuxRender repository. Just help yourself ;) I would help as much as I can during the transition period. Or a coorporation with another plugin dev would be fun, too.

Cheers,
Marcus

Great news! I'm not a C4D user myself but still would like to see the plugin updated. :)

Hi,
It's really great news indeed:) As a user of C4D I can say that I know a few people that might be interested in using this plugin. Besides I think developing and updating will bring more users.

@ abstrax:
maybe new exporter as a present for christmass? ;)

Cheers

Any new news on C4D plugin development?

I really need to be able to access the hybrid rendering functions from within C4D! SmallLuxGPU support would be nice too. I use C4D r13 and although I can export and render a scene. It is tough to to use LuxRender with the current exporter.

Hi,
You can enable hybrid render manually inserting line -> Renderer "hybrid" in .lxs file. See this topic: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=5042
I'm using luxrender with Cinema R11.5 and I can say that this method sometimes works sometimes not . I'm also waiting for some changes, updates in exporter.

Cheers
