Now that the first Blender 2.57 release is out, I hope these problems with pylux and LuxBlend25 will have an end... no current API and python version changes anymore...
Thanks for the builds, SATtva :)

Yeah, I just have to finally install it and debug the problem with pylux. :)

Downloaded http://www.vladmiller.info/lux/lux-gcc4 ... cl.tar.bz2 above

I'm running Blender 2.57 with pylux above on a 64bit machine. External rendering works fine but internal fails. Prior to that, I had to manually create soft-links to libOpenCL.so which was located differently on my system ( I hope the installation scripts do the checking the future... mine:/usr/lib64/nvidia/libOpenCL.so). Pylux is asking for libpng 1.4.5 while I have 1.2.44. No problem -- I'm about to upgrade and the latest is 1.5.2. Should I expect that the next build will use the latest libpng?

Unfortunately, that's not possible until FreeImage updates its header files. Try to keep libpng 1.4.x if you can. For now there is no much reason to upgrade to the new and shiny 1.5.

Am I the only one getting segmentation faults with this build? I've tried the 64bit non-OpenCL builds (both the SSE2 and the SSE3 ones) and when running luxconsole, once every so many times it will segfault almost instantly. I have not had such issues with your builds on this system (Ubuntu, Phenom X6) earlier.

Anything similar with RC3? Is that behavior reproducible with any scene? I'm using the very same builds on Thuban and didn't experienced any instability. I've now ran a testscene for 5 times (2 minutes each) on non-OpenCL luxconsole from this build -- everything seems fine.

I haven't tested RC3 on Linux, I'll get it, test and report back.

The segmentation faults already happened before loading any scene, just by starting luxconsole -s.

Ooops! :o I thought you're talking about rendering a scene with luxconsole only. Indeed, this build's luxconsole -s segfaults with glibc exception. But RC3 and newer builds run correctly here. Seems to be some Lux core issue fixed in the meantime. (I highly suspect IPv6 stack to be at fault.) Naaah, hardly.

Rc3 runs fine here as well, now rendering happily! :)

There was a race condition triggered by me adding the ipv6 listener. I fixed it before RC3 :)
