Thank you very much, the GPU mode works now. But I tried to move the cube in an animation and the message is (I have 250 frame to render) :

I don't see the cube animation only the first frame... Have you an idea? Thank you Jason.

Again, LuxRender does not stop on its own. The algorithms it uses do not inherently have an ending point, they must be stopped arbitrarily. Try setting the haltspp (under render settings) to a value of...oh 30 or so will work for a test, then hit render animation. It should work.

Ok my cube is moving. With his two white faces lol. Good job Jason. You gave me a new hope ;) EDIT I ve just a little message Unable to define the autofocus focal distance...
Could you give me quickly the recipe to have gradient rendering on this cube, just to see how i can get a blender render-like scene... I find strage that my rendering is just white and black... Or if there is a tutorial to free your precious time...
Thank you ;) ;) ;)

Add a really big plane underneath the cube to catch the light and reflect it back up into the cube. Also make the lamp an area lamp instead of a point. It will look a lot better.

The autofocus thing is just for depth of field, don't get too worried about it.

Yes! It look fine for a start, it's strange, faces of my cube are pixelized with grey levels but it's good for a start. :D :D :D
Thank you, can you give me a tutorial to discover the renderer by myself? Is there errors that I must not do with blender like material properties or textures?
Thank you very much. If you don't have the time to answer all my newbie question I will find by myself, I think it's natural...
Nicolas.
PS what time is it in Portland?

The new user tips and tricks page is decent: http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/New_User_Tips_and_Tricks
As is the FAQ: http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/Frequentl ... _Questions
And the LuxBlend25 manual: http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/LuxBlend25_Manual

Start with those 3, then take a stroll around the wiki for any other questions you might have.

And it's 14:35 here atm. Should be 13:35, but they jumped us with daylight savings time yesterday. >:(

So yeah, the carpaint defaults atm are completely wrong. Sorry. This one should put them back to something good:

Arf, in the process of upgrading to 0.8RC2, I seem to have broken my blender2.5 + Lux setup.

Now all I get is Blender blowing up as soon as I trigger a LuxRender material preview render.

snip01.png

This is with LuxBlend tip (d06d8471c5f3) and, as shown, Blender r35880; on Windows 7 64 bit using LuxRender 0.8RC2

The log snapshot is for a fully reset Blender environment.

I've upgraded Blender, Lux and LuxBlend countless times in the past months, but now I seem to have lost my fu !

The original RC2 build of pylux is faulty, LordCrc has since posted an update that works.
