The easiest way is to grab a Blender build including LuxBlend from graphicall. Blender API is still a fast moving target and is quite tricky to find the good combination of BLender and LuxBlender. If you compile Blender from the SVN repository use LuxBlend from our mercurial repository, it should be compatible.

I got the Blender 2.56a r35061 Win64 with LuxRender and OpenMP
http://www.graphicall.org/builds/builds/showbuild.php?action=show&id=1592
Still very little material options for glass2 material, compared to LuxRender 0.7.
Guess work in progress  I will stick with stable release 0.7 for now.

?

Glass2 has the same options its always had. More if you count the "dirty water"-type effects you can do with glass2+homogeneous volume.

Most of those options have been moved to the World panel, so that you can re-use the interior/exterior volume definitions.

Found the World panel but only option is ior, abssorption scale / color,

Textured absorption menu is empty, no braus option.
No cauchy b.

How do i make scattering glass 2 material with tabulated absorption spectra.

The blender 2.5 UI is new for me :)

Trying Lux .8 (dev)

tried it on an nvidia computer and on an ati computer. Both computers ran small lux just fine.
but neither of these computers seem to be rendering on the gpu.
not getting any errors

I have not updated any drivers or anything. Is there something I'm missing?

any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you read this post? It details the steps needed to get hybrid rendere working: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=5042

Also, please keep in mind that the hybrid renderer will most likely be slower for simple scenes. You'll need complex geometry for it to pay off at this point.

Hi Guys,

Is it okay to run luxconsole version .07 with the new .80 release of LuxRender.???

For some reason when I run luxconsole it comes up with the .07 version. I know it is probably something I am doing wrong, but does it make any difference??.

Cheers,

No, that is not okay and will most likely result in unexpected rendering results. Where did you get your version of luxconsole?
