Hi all,
Exact same error message under archlinux, same 32bit blender from blender's website, i tried every single 32bit version of luxrender 0.8I could find (binary versions only, I wasn't able to clone the mercurial repository)... luxblend25 from mercurial.
Is there any workaround I could try or do you need more details about other package to spot the problem?
Edit : I'm not sure it's the best place to talk about this problem, should I open a new thread?

Please guys, open new threads in the relevant forums for separate issues. This thread is about using the hybrid renderer in LuxRender.

On the bright side it'll make you get responses more quickly :)

Ok ! I ll do that.
But since the first post told to install pylux I thought it was wise to ask this here

I also asked the same question a few days ago on luxblend25 board...

Instancing support would be awesome, it's the only thing I'm having issues with.

(Sorry if I'm posting to totally wrong thread)

I'm using privately compiled version of luxrender with latest changes. I'm not sure if it's luxblend25 or luxrender with GPU. If I'm not using hybrid renderer, everything looks fine but with hybrid renderer, only emitting materials are rendered.

With hybrid and path (=GPU)

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Hello,

I tried to activate the hybrid mode with the instructions given in this thread, it works but most of objects in the scene disappear, do you know why ?

Thanx

Hybrid doesn't support instancing currently, so this could be why. Otherwise I'm not sure.

There are no instances, but it's a big scene (almost a city) with many independent objects (buildings), the ground and pavement stays in hybrid mode, but all buildings disappear. I tried to flip normals, add new buildings from scratch, change camera clipping, but nothing changes... Everything is ok in cpu rendering

Any errors or warnings in the log? If you render only one building, does it also disappear?

Hi,

I tried to isolate a building but it doesn't work

Cpu rendering :

[2011-02-06 01:28:30 Warning: 43] Inconsistent shading normals
19 lines of the same error
[2011-02-06 01:29:02 Info: 0] Preprocess thread uses seed: 1135550936
[2011-02-06 01:29:02 Warning: 0] Unable to define the Autofocus focal distance

But the result is ok

Hybrid :

Same errors lines, but most of the objects disappear

I noticed that only objects with an non applied modifier appear (solidify), I tested with a lonesome building it works

Hybrid + 2 network servers

There's another strange behaviour when I use network rendering, it seems like every server has different image coordinates, I didn't test without hybrid

Some clues for theses two problems ?

Thank you
