Check upload size before trying to upload

Postby A-man » Fri Jan 21, 2011 6:34 pm

I've had some issues uploading anything over 10mb (probably the upload restriction), but I had to wait for the whole thing to upload before it told me it couldn't be uploaded. Is there a way that the website could check if the file can be uploaded or not and then upload it?

In short, no not really. It is a limitation of the servers we have and the PHP language used by the forum.

The limit is in fact set at 7M, and we cannot change it :(

Oh, that sucks  I do think it would be useful to have this size posted near the upload attachment button, just to make it clear that it wont work with anything over that size. I also think there should be a list or link to a list of acceptable file attachments. I attached a picture of a quick mock-up that gets the basic point across.
