hey Stig,
thank you for your fast feedback...
to me is OK to use only one kind of shader for the environment.
what I can't understand is why the 3ds max bitmap shader work for the environment background... but not work if used for mapping the materials. any way.

about the normal issue.... please read this post: viewtopic.php?f=36&t=4534&start=40#p48310
is from a blender user... they have also this problem with some geometries... this could be mean to be more a Luxrender problem.

by the way.. Kel Solaar from http://www.hdrlabs.com would grab an existing template for sibl_Gui to adapt it to Luxrender for max.
but for support sibl_Gui is needed that the "mentalRay Sun or the DirectLight" from max "daylight system" is exported as sun instead as infinite light. ;) I think is better to use a mrSun since we use mr Portal... why not the fresh LrSun? because a target is needed.

thank you

:)
good news!
hope to see soon the new release.
by the way I know you have not much time at time to work on.... but do you think about how to split the normals? you talked about a script!
anyway any new idea about?

off topic:
what is needed in Luxmax to work with augmented reality plugin?
I'm not sure to had understand right how it work.
I understand that there is a kind of projector that project obj shadows on the background...(?)

:) I ask codeboycjy if he can build a window version of AR-Luxrender... but he was on holiday at time.
and I had pinpoint to Aldo that there is a weekly build that support gpu acceleration.... so, it would be nice he can start integration with the up coming 0.8 tests version.

thanks

hey... a question about...
is the lamp spectrum intended only as light emission texture?
because "olive oil", "Zn" etc. have not much to do with light... but for example Zn with metal... and obviously olive oil with liquid....
does this mean that for example if I want to create a olive-oil mat... I have to add the lamp spectrum texture to the absorption slot of the glass/glass2?

No, the reason for the naming is from the source of the data : http://ioannis.virtualcomposer2000.com/ ... amici.html

thank you Doug
I had understand know to what are the presets referring.
[3.7]: Incandescent light ([1.2.3]) absorbed through olive oil. The spectrum has characteristic absorption bands in the red, yellow and green areas and displays complete absorption beyond green. Calibration relative to scale [3.8] (approximate).
