bumpo problem

Postby scotty300582 » Thu Sep 30, 2010 4:38 pm

Hi I'm new to lux.
I'm trying to make a render with blender and luxrender...but I can't see any bump effect assigned by me to one material, neither in the material preview nor in the rendered scene.
Now I was trying a brick effect with bump scale 0.1.
Can anyone help me or suggest some tutorial or guide?
Thank you in advance

For a holes between bricks u need contrasty bump map with white for brick and black for hole areas.

I think 0.01 is ok.

thank you for your reply. I'm using the brick texture that i have found in blender. It seems to be like as u said but I have the same problem, can't see any effect in my rendered scene.
There is some guide or tutorial for this?

Check the scale of your scene - the bump scale value is in absolute units, 1.0 = 1 meter (usually way off), 0.01 = 1 mm (more realistic for most purposes). If your scene is 1000 blender units across, to exaggerate a bit, none of these values will be visible obviously.

Hi,

0.01 is obviously not 1mm but 1cm :)
