codeboycjy wrote:one more question, i want luxrender working in 3ds max without exporting the scene out.
i mean i want to make a plugin that integrates luxrender and max so that i could render a scene in 3ds max using luxrender.
hey welcome! and thank you for join the LuxRender project
just like Hedphelym say.... the right way is to start rendering with LuxRender in max ambient trough Luxconsole.exe!
Luxconsole.exe can also be used to make materials preview thumbnails in max material editor!
since LuxRender is an unbiased render... to render directly in max make sense.... if we can play with film setting, light group and other stuff... like we just do in LuxRender window or through telnet connection in smallLux!
but the problem is that max freeze the main window when the render is started in max ambient!
so there must be found a work around to start the render in max and play at the same time with settings! a workaround that don't make max freeze!
playing with telnet in smallLux while it render is possible.... because the render process is external to max! and max is not freeze like usual!
this is just my though! any way.... what you want to do is possible
edit: if you render external to max... and the scene is OK for you... you have the win to close max and destine the free memory to LuxRender for speeding up a little the rendering progress!
there is another nice question:
an integration of smallLux is expected in LuxRender 0.8... and smallLux is just able to be connected in RT with max through telnet!
so... will also Luxrender able to be connected to max via telnet?
