new luxrender's icon edition!
added some new icons for smallLuxGPU files type.
It's my personal project.... no one asked for! I want to share it and know what do you think about! any comment is appreciated.
you can ask for any other missing extension!
the zip contain all type snow and stealth see previews thumbnails collection!

the icons are made under the gimp, the font I used is the Luxrender official one!
please post comment and/or suggestions

I like them very much, and as such have included them in the 0.7 windows installer. The main drawback is that you didn't make dedicated 16x16 icons, and they really don't work well when being downsized automatically. If you want to do 16x16's then, due to size constraints, perhaps the 16x16 should just have the general "page" thing and with the extension text written vertically?

I was wondering about the 16X16 icon dimension..... it's just included!

the icons are only RGBA and included dimension are:
128; 96; 72; 64; 48; 32; 24; 16;
and this is how it work when I set icon dimension to 16

problematic are icons with text.... but the same problem happens with the png icons. the only one that can recognize with out problem are the PLY, the render CFG, the LBM and the material SCN file.... because it contains only an image in it.

so try to download the attached icon it include not only RGBA but also 256 and 16 color.
let me know which work better... so I can retouch the full icon pack!

That looks better, but still a bit hard to see unfortunately.

What I did for the windows installer was to make a "scheme" using the different colors to indicate different files as well. For instance I use the green FLM icon, gray for LXO, LXM and LXV, and blue for LXS. This was to more readily identify the difference, but also to indicate which files are the "important" ones. So if the vertical text thing doesn't pan out, perhaps you could try boosting the colors for the 16x16 ones?

As for 16 color, I don't think it's needed frankly, because I don't think anyone who is running 256 colors on their display is going to enjoy using LuxRender

hi again Lord,
I just tried to rotate the text from the big sized original one, to scale down... and to fit it to 128 height....
it appear nice to see... but when I just scale it down to 24X24... there is no difference between the old horizontal one and the latest vertical.
the best way to work is create the icon series with 128-> 32 rgba sized........... and 24-> 16 256 sized
the 256 color format work better for small icon, because their less smoothed compared to rgba... this mean an enhanced profile

any way I will try some other solution! I have just some ideas

I try some solutions... and since most Luxrender's extension are LXS, LXO... etc
I create some 24X24 and 16X16 sized icon where I used only the latest letter of the extension...for example "S" for lxs and so on.
I delete the old 24X24 and 16X16 sized icon from the icon and overwrite them with new one....
but it doesn't work! the displayed 16X16 one is not like in the image...

Ah the new ones look good, having the single letters works nicely

As for the small sizes not showing correctly, it seems that windows doesn't like that the small sizes are 8bit while the others are 32bit. By changing the 24x24 and 16x16 sizes to be 32bit it immediately displayed correctly here. I'm attaching the modified file just to show.

in the next days I will edit all icons by adding the single letter 24 and 16 sized icon...
and I will post the full updated package!
