Does it still happen? I had also noticed and fixed the issue.

Yes, happens on latest three builds including the one in this topic (sorry for an ambiguous "not related to this particular build" -- I meant that not only this build is affected).

Hi,

I had problems running ./luxconsole on a rented 64-bit ubuntu machine:

Code: Select all
./luxconsole: error while loading shared libraries: libpng12.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

EDIT: Ubuntu 8.04 LTS via Amazon EC2 64-bit, libpng..? should be shipped with it, or not?

There was a version bump in Gentoo I didn't paid attention to. Actually, it should be linked statically, I just didn't had time to look into the issue.

The error message says something about shared libraries, so it should not be an issue about statically linked executables, or not !?

And it's Ubuntu, not Gentoo 8], !?

You're right, that's the reason for static compilation.

As the binary is being built on Gentoo, all dynamic linking is done against libraries (and their particular versions) installed locally on the system. After moving that binary to another system, something happens to cease working. :)

So do I need to use Gentoo linux now? What can I do to make it working on Ubuntu?

PowStudios3, no, you absolutely don't need to do anything. This is completely my own problem and it's me who have to figure it out. :)
