Flat : LightGroups / LampSpectrum

Postby fboyer » Fri Mar 20, 2009 9:59 am

I designed a small flat for a friend a couple months ago, and i think it will be a good scene for my tutorial, so i've started modeling this afternoon (very simple).
Here am i so far :

try to use some special stuff like little lamps, neon and stuff,
for some ideas, you can visit galidakis' site here: http://ioannis.virtualcomposer2000.com/ ... ction.html
all those lamps we also have in the lampspectrum, they are even *the exact* lamps he measured :)

the one in the kitchen (duluxstar) is in the right of the picture attached, it's very identical.
He has also suggested a fix for the incadescent lamps, and i'll add this this weekend.

btw, the image contains:

left: Philips TLD 30W/55 Regular daylight fluorescent
middle: Sylvania F4T5W Regular warm white fluorescent
right: OSRAM Duluxstar ... Regular Compact Triphosphor fluorescent

all from the 'fluorescent' category.

great stuff there Radiance ! I'm definitely experimenting this next week.
For now i'm writing a little tutorial about lightgroups. I post movie files not to have 8 images or one may lose himself in the thread !

SCENE 1 : http://files.me.com/florent.boyer/65c2ml
SCENE 2 : http://files.me.com/florent.boyer/rte3iq

I'm organising everything, it may eventually be more useful to me than the people i'm writing for :)

edit : the point here is not to create a great animation, obviously, it's not even a good one, but to show the possibilities, in an 'artistic' point of view, with only one render.

looks nice, nice clean. perhaps we can also use some nice quality static images for a demo on the feature page or other demonstration page. to show people how easy and great lightgroups are.

like in this topic: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1664

If that is okay with you of course. if it's okay, it would be great if you could donate some images (also of gui). :)

I'm not that great at programming it on the website (JS), so dougal should eventually agree on the whole idea.

of course, you can have any image you want.
I was really sorry to learn that js doesn't implement simple compositing operations like ADD... it would have make this 'fake interactive' idea easier to achieve !
i'm currently rendering hi-res, and i'll upload them as part of the tutorial.
