Xeon Phi support?

Postby uezi » Fri Nov 18, 2016 12:05 am

Hi,

I'm just wondering if LuxRender supports Xeon Phi.
My research on Phi showed that it runs embree on which luxrender builds on.
Anyone who successfully has run LuxRender or parts of it on Phi?

Thanks & best regards,
Peter

It would works out of the box if Xeon Phi has a good support for OpenCL. I have read conflicting information about the quality of Xeon Phi OpenCL support in the past so it may or it may not work well. It all about being able to take advantage of AVX512 extension otherwise the Xeon Phi is pathetically slow.
