Impossible. That'll take at least a bit of thinking! :)

I love the splash screen comp, if only because its interesting to deal with the experience of luxrender symbolically.

Luxrender has meant a lot to me, its given me a means to work on my art with integrity, clean all the way thru because its transparent, no hidden stuff.

Fine art requires honesty, judging a piece of art as good or bad is a consumer consciousness, like science art is about a process the end result being commentary on that process producing a communication about experience. Like or dislike does not matter so much as the honesty of the statement.

Without FOSS there is always a doubt about honesty.

Luxrender 1.0 is a important benchmark.

Actually, could that be possible? Each time Lux is opened, a random image is shown? It would make any tie simpler to deal with.

IIRC, this was considered at one occasion.

I would even go so far as to say it was more than one occasion, at least casually, the main issue that always emerges is binary size.

I guess one option would be to check for a internet connection and download a new random image every time and if the user does not have a internet connection we can open popups that ridicule the user for not being part of the 21st century

Seriously tho ;) - it is possible in theory to do the internet download but issues other than detecting a connection arise fex someone with a slow connection. I think we have never gone this route in general because even with semi-ubiquitous internet connections it creates unpredictable dependency.

I never see any lux splash screen anywhere unless I open "about" :?:
