Voumetric effects still Path only?

The documentation refers to 0.6, and 0.8 is in weeklies at the moment. Are volumetric effects like dust and fog still for the Path integrator only?

I've got a scene that even with Hybrid mode just chokes and dies on Path - it doesn't like my mesh lights I think - so Path just isn't an option here, but it would be really enhanced by a little atmospheric dust...

Unfortunately yes, still the case.
May contain traces of nuts.
