Vertigo i've checked the luxball5 in max 2013, the *.dll ply exporter need to be up to date for for the body objects geometries.
but there is still an easy workaround.
use the setting that i show you above, in addition to them just flag like it.
converting the ball to a editpoly or editmesh is not worth, because first you loose the control on the details of the ball and as second not lesser important the file becomes soooo huge... the ball high dense.... but the reflections on it are worse. trust me i tried everything and this is the best way to maintain the file small and accurate in rendering
i think it's better if i too re-upload the updated the luxball5 to match the 2013 need... so to be just a "download and render"
