OSXintel_64bit_ LuxRender-0.9_weekly_april_06_2012

Jupp, a new weekly again,

Build_of_april_06_2012 -- MD5-checksum: 88b74f63ba2cc52f9a8a937baca2c9f0

"Primary new feature is the merging of the statistics rewrite provided by our newly promoted developer Omniflux. The goal was to provide tool tips for each statistic in the GUI, but that required a big change in the internals. The relevant thread is here. The "short" statistics printed by luxconsole and pylux has been changed somewhat, please provide feedback on this if you'd prefer it to look different."

Details, see: http://src.lux-render.net/lux/shortlog

Keep in mind the just happened switch to boost 1.47

- networking enhancements
- new SQBVH accellerator
...and more
- no more cycles conflicts
- 20% faster loadtimes due optimised lookup tables
- 10% faster rendering
- 20% smaller binaries
- iám testing some optimizations, lemme know if this breaks some older cpu-types
- as a consequency you can atm only network with lux compiled with same boost !!! update: other OS weeklies have followed now, be sure to use builds after 24th february
- addon is also compatible to early BMesh builds, as the api is not yet finished, you may see warnings etc.

Please test intensively

Contains:

- LuxRender ( no installer, just drag LuxRender folder to Applications dir )
- LuxBlend_addon (Blender 2.61 acual svn compliant !)
- LuxBlend_0.9 (Blender2.4)
- scripts_interactive ( note: they refer to /Applications/LuxRender/LuxRender, so don´t rename ! )

....
- requires OSX 10.6+ due openCL dependencies
- splash versioning @ 0.9(dev)

Kown issues:
- Hybrid bidir not yet fully finished. ( alpha bug )
- new lightintefaces not yet completely finished

Usage: ( no installer for weeklies ;) ): just drag "LuxRender" folder to applications, follow the addon-install instructions in addon README.

http://www.jensverwiebe.de/LuxRender/Lux_dev_builds/OSXintel_x86_64_LuxRender-0.9_latest.zip

Use this build best with Blender 2.62 or later

The expression "latest" matches the builddate here, additional there´s a small .txt to verify. Security concerns: For validation compare the MD5 checksum.

Jens

Just a python-related observation:
Under Linux, I have managed to use the pylux module built against 2.6 with python 2.5 (ie, it is somewhat backward-compatible). It would be useful to know if any OSX 10.5 users can import Jens' pylux module.

Communication lines was tapped. My plan is foiled. Need to kill everybody involved. ¬__¬

:) Hehe. I was busy last days. I think you can be prepared for Linux weeklies tomorrow. (And incidentally Jens saved me a little time by providing a status update already. :P)
