LuxC4D alpha2

Postby GBie » Tue Mar 25, 2008 12:04 am

Hi all,

An improved version (alpha 2) of the exported for C4D is available for download:
http://jiri.nemrava.cz/luxc4d/luxc4d_alpha2.zip

Only Cinema 10.x 32bit is supported - just copy the archive contents into your plugins folder.

The exporter is still far from complete and could be (and probably will be) unstable.

Release notes:
- meshes are polygonized and triangulated automatically
- luxC4Dcamera tag added - add it to active render camera to tweak settings
- uv coords and normals get exported (provided object has a uv / phong tag)
- material support added - similar to luxblend 0.1 alpha 12

Materials and material parameters translation table:
http://jiri.nemrava.cz/luxc4d/luxrender_mats_exp.html

Any feedback is appreciated. I will try to add more features and optimizations asap.

Great news indeed! :D

Hey, what do you think about putting the translation table in the wiki?

Great idea - I was planning to do that and also maybe some more documentation. But right now I am busy as I am adding some features which I consider "a must". If there is someone who could copy the table there and possibly also release notes she/he would make me very happy.

If you still need help (e.g. someone for answering sdk specific questions) or maybe someone who compiles a version for R9... im here.

i have some questions:
-about uv's: are all mapping types supported?
...

uhm thats it... more to follow soon. maybe.

Hello,

Does any error message appear when it crashes? And, just to be sure lux didn't get corrupted, have you tried to render some other testscene?

If so, could you post the exported files so we could take a closer look?

Thanks!

I would recommend updating cinema, e. g. applying the free update to version 10.111. If it is possible, please post the c4d file.

Hi,

I can see two problems in your scene:
- no filename for output bitmap is defined: just fill it in cinema render settings
- there are no light sources in the scene

Cheers.
