New feature "Mask Background"

Postby jensverwiebe » Tue Jul 17, 2012 1:37 pm

Hi
Today i added a new feature to the renderview: you can now switch the view to be alpha stamped with an grid background.

This is only for judging the view ! One has still either to export with alpha or set use_alpha on export.

Comments are welcome ...

As per request changed the naming to "Show Alpha".

I extender the alpha also to clipboard if "Show Alpha" is active, kinda WYSIWYG, clipboard == viewer.
The clipboard icon also reflects the state, but is unfortunately rather small on certain resolutions:

Some applications allow "import from clipboard", so this way the feature may be most useful.

The holes inside the cube look slightly darker than the transparent environment. Is that because the alpha mask is not 100% clear? Or am I seeing things? ;)

;P

That example texture used was not a true alphamap but from the vegetation lib, so the leaf does not stamp 100%, you saw it right ;)

Hi
I made a little workflow example to learn how clipboard can be used w/wo alpha.

EDIT: hmm, looks as alpha is ignored on windows atm, looking for a fix for win clipboard.
