A tuto to use GREYCStoration noise reduction in LuxRender?

Postby Manduleen » Sun Apr 08, 2012 5:27 pm

Hello,

I'm a beginner with 3D compositions (I discovered DAZ last January) and I just start to use LuxRender. Before LuxRender, all my renders were run with 3Delight (biased rendering).

This afternoom I played a long time with the different parameters of LuxRender (I found a lot of informations in the wiki) but I don't understand how to use the noise reduction, I don't foun any information for the GREYCStoration use.

Could you help me please?

(Sorry for my approximate english...)

Thanks!

+1 from me :) It would be nice to know how to use it xD (perhaps example settings?)

However, Manduleen, I have often found using Photoshop (or The Gimp) can do as great a job at noise reduction, and could be easier.

All parameters are thoroughly explained in GREYCstoration guide, however you rarely need to tweak settings, the defaults are quite optimal. On the other hand, GREYCstoration processing is extremely slow. From my own experience, you can achieve similar (if not better) results much, much faster with Wavelet Denoise GIMP plugin.

Ok, thank you very much.

I will read the guide, I didn't found it yesterday.

For this moment, my render in progress is noisyless with time :) So it will run some hours more ;)
