New: Animation Preview & Kitchen Scene

Postby zeealpal » Mon Aug 13, 2012 9:55 am

Updated: Here is a frame 100s/px at 27mins, of a 10 sec animation I am doing :) I toned down the caustics so they are what I thought 'more realistic' rather than strong to be cool :) Will add more s/px over time :P

Here is a kitchen scene I made, because all recent scenes I've made have been about experiments, not producing a realistic image. I'm working on getting it more realistic. The plates/rack/knives are stock models.

Was planning to do a 10 Hour 6 c1.xlarge (24core) render for $4.2 to >2CFU... but I had to restart it to enable .flm saving... instead I thought it looked good at 20 mins instead :P (42c spot price)

Is the background (door, window etc.) modelled or a HDRI?

The overall look is good, yes, but in the sink and between the stacked plates there's still noise. Maybe a border render of these regions would suffice?

The door is a hdri, I'm going to make my own for this scene however, I don't like the placement of this one :P

Also, I could have given it an extra 30 mins render time without being charged more, which would have helped with the plates and sink :)
