Block filter is up and running... in less than 12 hours the block log has 15 pages, each 25 entries long, of blocked registration attempts:

The log is now nearly at 45 pages :shock: We must have been blocking some of these before otherwise we'd have millions of registered users :?

If these are bots, then perhaps they were stopped by the captcha?

Yeah, I think these are blocked before captcha. Still, interesting to see just how bad it is if you have no protection. In comparison it'd be safe to go around having unprotected sex with random strangers every weekend :lol:

So much for the new anti-spam stuff. The forum just got spambombed...

(Yes, I know no anti-spam software is perfect. Just seems ironic given the recent upgrade is all.)

It's natural that not only real people spammers but also robots wont (yet) be listed in these blacklists.

Looks like that was a sleeper agent bot registered not long before spam countermeasures have been implemented.
