Sorry for nagging, but i cant realy try the engine without a new exporter.... ;)

Hi Stromberg90,

Sorry for the delay, but didn't have much time the last weeks. At the moment I'm working on an object, where you can set scene details, like render size, sampler, integrator and so on. It's not very complicated work, but takes some time to setup the resources, hook them up in the code ...
So I'm still on it.

Cheers,
Marcus

Sorry, but at the moment I don't give any estimates, as my last estimate was completely off ;)

I would like to have it finished this weekend, but it may take a bit longer due to lack of available time.

I have one question to you: At the moment you setup the Lux render parameters in the mentioned object - similar to the Maxwell and Indigo exporter. I'm wondering if I should move these into the C4D rendersettings as post effect - similar to the Fryrender or VRay connections. What do you think?

Cheers,
Marcus

The great benefit of this is a fast and easy use of render Presets the User can generate!
So I would say go for it! 8-)

Since i defently use fryrender and the vraybridge more than maxwell and indigo, i would feel more comfortable with it. 8-)
And i think it's easier and faster, cause then you have all the render settings in one places. :)

Hi!

Just a simple question... Is there nobody who can compile or make the plug-in compatible to older release than Cinema 4D 10.x e.g. XL6 or XL7?

Hi CUL,

I don't think we will ever be able to go back to older versions than R8, as the CINEMA 4D API completely changed with that version. That means, a port to a pre-R8 will require a large rewrite and I don't have the time for that. I'm already way behind my schedule... But if someone wants to try to port it version, he/she should feel free to do it, that's one of the reasons, why the code is open source.

Beside that, I will look into ports to older C4D releases than 10.5 when the main and urgently needed features are implemented. The build framework is already set up for this. But as I said before, I don't see a port to version older than R8 and very likely I will go back only to R9.x.

Cheers,
Marcus

PS: This weekend there will be definitely a new release, that allows you to specify Lux render/output settings in the scene. There has finally now been some real progress, as I was fiddling around with description for a while. After that release I will start adding light support. Again, sorry for the delay.
