Just Some Glitches I thought I'd post

- When select material after adding it to the material editor, script explodes and 3ds shuts down
- light reflections aliasing
- onload errors on 3ds 2013
- max 2013 show matieral "show shaded materials in viewport" does not show materials
- LR Area - no way to use lighting power I think accept moving the light closer or further
- Bump map and displacement don't seem like they do anything
- sppm i think is in 1.0rc1 blows up on render

I haven't used lux in a long time, so some of these could be settings or I just don't know what I'm doing, but just in case

hi Vertigo, maybe the file while loaded in max 2013, it's setting will be reset to default.
to render accurately the luxball, you have to select all the body object geometries part and give them this setting:

for the bump you have to use the type: float not color.

also the material has a preview in the material slot ... you can notice the difference.
important there is a pinned topic here from where you can download the luxmax guide ;)
these kind of info are inside.

Vertigo i've checked the luxball5 in max 2013, the *.dll ply exporter need to be up to date for for the body objects geometries.
but there is still an easy workaround.
use the setting that i show you above, in addition to them just flag like it.

converting the ball to a editpoly or editmesh is not worth, because first you loose the control on the details of the ball and as second not lesser important the file becomes soooo huge... the ball high dense.... but the reflections on it are worse. trust me i tried everything and this is the best way to maintain the file small and accurate in rendering ;)

i think it's better if i too re-upload the updated the luxball5 to match the 2013 need... so to be just a "download and render"

the aliasing.... for anti-aliasing try to use the Mitchell filter in the exporter.

The Scene with the Aliasing is already using the Mitchell filter. I just double checked it.

Still doing it :(
