Hi

Anybody knows where i can download this HDR's:
http://www.hdrlabs.com/gallery/flashpanos_western-usa/pano.html?GCanyon_A_Scenic
http://www.hdrlabs.com/gallery/flashpanos_western-usa/pano.html?NatBridge_B_Sipapu

And the Smart IBL format spec defines:
Code: Select all
[Header]
ICOfile = "HWSign3-Fence_Thumb.jpg"
Name = "Hollywood Sign"
Author = "Blochi"
Location = "Hollywood"
Comment = "Sunset and a clear sky, lots of blue dusk light"
GEOlat = 34.13404881298771
GEOlong = -118.32163274288177
Link = "http://www.hdrlabs.com/sibl/archive.html"
Date = "2007:03:08"
Time = "08:03:00"
Height = 2
North = 0

From there i'm more interested about last 2 (how can i properly setup scene lighting in Blender and Luxblend)?:
Code: Select all
North = FP number [2.0]
This is a horizontal marker of the the north direction in the panorama images, ranging from 0.0 to 1.0. It is used to align the entire lighting setup. Advanced implementations may also use it in conjunction with GPS data, date and time to setup a physical sky or physical sun system.

Height = FP number [2.0]
This is the capturing height of the panoramas, measured in meters from the lens center to the ground. In a lighting setup this height value helps to minimize projection distortion by having the correct distance between the ground plane and the lighting domes.

Hi sattva,

I know all this wiki sites. But there are no answers to my questions :cry:. Wiki always says, that there is something. But Wiki says not how it works. Too simple for this difficult processes. It shoes a direction. This direction I am going already. I will have to find the answers myself :ugeek: .

no seriously, I have change the scene and have built in defocus. I think the glass looks relatively realistic. But what do this sparkle crumbs on the glass? Espsecially on the edge?
It is very annoying. What goes wrong?
render settings

mlt:
lmp 0.1 - 0.4
mcr 250 - 10000

bidir:
bounces 16 - 35
advanced 16/16 - 512/512 ( less than 150/150 the edge of the glass is black)

I have tried everything in relation to render settings.
The settings for the pics:

mlt:
lmp 0.3
mcr 250

bidir:
bounces 20
advanced 150/150 - otherwise I have blach edges, but without sparkles on it. An exactly edge but a little bit dark.

I also change the angle of the camera.
Has anybody an idea what I can do. Shall I just wait ( 10000 spp) or longer? Thank you. Is the reason the position of the HDRI. I cant make testrender about 500 hours. :!:
Thank you :D

Just render longer ;)
With Lux you need much patience, but the result is worth waiting.

Also, if the noise only remains in a little part of the image, you can use border rendering: http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/Border_Render

Hi B.Y.O.B.,

You mean it is the render time? What would you say about the pixels :roll: There was a calculation if I am right. For times the samples halved the noise. This calculation makes me a little worried. But I am trying!
Are there any advices that might be useful?

Thank you :D

yep.
strahlentherapeut wrote:What would you say about the pixels

I'd say render them with border rendering: render to, say, 10000 S/p (should go reasonable fast with only a small area selected via Shift+B in Blender) and see when the noise clears up.
