Hi Dade -

Both, but primarily the fact that the source is visible, since that happens with every filter.

thanks,

Well, most LuxRender light sources are directly visible because it is a physically based rendering engine. However point and spot light sources aren't. Using point light + IES should solve your "directly visible" problem :?:

Are you using the "use sphere" checkbox on Blender exporter JtheNinja was talking about ? Because I'm pretty sure a point light source can not be directly visible. Anyway, if you post the exported files (i.e. .lxs, .lxm, etc.) I can tell you.

Can I post the .blend? I've been rendering right out of Blender so I'm not sure how to export.

[edit] nevermind... duh

There are some file missing, if you open the .lxs file, you will see the reference to the following files:

Code: Select all
Include "../../../private/tmp/ies-lamp-test/Scene/00001/LuxRender-Materials.lxm"

Include "../../../private/tmp/ies-lamp-test/Scene/00001/LuxRender-Geometry.lxo"

Include "../../../private/tmp/ies-lamp-test/Scene/00001/LuxRender-Volumes.lxv"

In the same directory they may be also some .ply file.

This scene is totally different from the previous .lxs you posted, is this intended ?

The previous one had a point light source with IES profile. Instead, this one has a 4 quadrilateral area light sources (no IES).

No, not intentional... I'll see if I can rebuild it.

This should be the correct .lxs.
