### Re: Those pesky little light symbols...

Both, but primarily the fact that the source is visible, since that happens with every filter.

thanks,

Well, most LuxRender light sources are directly visible because it is a physically based rendering engine. However point and spot light sources aren't. Using point light + IES should solve your "directly visible" problem

Are you using the "use sphere" checkbox on Blender exporter JtheNinja was talking about ? Because I'm pretty sure a point light source can not be directly visible. Anyway, if you post the exported files (i.e. .lxs, .lxm, etc.) I can tell you.

Can I post the .blend? I've been rendering right out of Blender so I'm not sure how to export.

 nevermind... duh

There are some file missing, if you open the .lxs file, you will see the reference to the following files:

Code: Select all
Include "../../../private/tmp/ies-lamp-test/Scene/00001/LuxRender-Materials.lxm"Include "../../../private/tmp/ies-lamp-test/Scene/00001/LuxRender-Geometry.lxo"Include "../../../private/tmp/ies-lamp-test/Scene/00001/LuxRender-Volumes.lxv"

In the same directory they may be also some .ply file.

This scene is totally different from the previous .lxs you posted, is this intended ?

The previous one had a point light source with IES profile. Instead, this one has a 4 quadrilateral area light sources (no IES).

No, not intentional... I'll see if I can rebuild it.

This should be the correct .lxs.
