Export Camera FROM Luxrender

Postby postrock » Fri Aug 05, 2011 1:59 pm

I'm not sure if this is possible, because i guess most people would find this of no use.
But i would like to export a camera from Luxrender to Blender 2.58, in other words i'd like to use Lux also as the middleman between Blender and Sketchup, and when i'm done go back to Lux for the render.

For example:
Take advantage of the Sketchup Match photo tool, export SU to Lux and check test render, if test render is promising go ahead to Blender for animation (starting from the same camera position defined in SU). Finally, once done animating inside Blender go back to Luxrender for final result.
Is this possible? (i tried opening the Luxrender file esported from SU2LUX but have no idea how to take that data inside Blender 2.58).

Actually a method to turn Lux exports to Blend files would be an interesting way to eliminate some of the import issues between 3d apps. as id imagine all lxs files are the same(ie one from MAX will have the same data as one from Luxblend in regards to mesh locations) so it could be interesting if one day the exporter could also import luxrender mesh info into a program.

It would be handy if it would be possible to not only send the camera back to blender, but all other settings you can change in Lux, too. (Settings like Tonemapping, Film, Lightgroups ...)
