New exporter needed for Blender 2.58?

Postby B.Y.O.B. » Wed Jun 29, 2011 4:21 am

Do I need an updated LuxBlend25 for the new Blender 2.58?

Until now, I just have copied my previous luxrender-folder out of
<BlenderHome>/2.57/scripts/addons/
into
<BlenderHome>/2.58/scripts/addons/
(same with the presets folder).

Now I have a weird bug: I can only see one lightgroup in the world-tab, when I add more lgs, I can't see or rename them, but for the lamps they are visible (as "New Lightgroup", "New Lightgroup", "New Lightgroup" etc.).

Yeah, click the v08-2.58 tag:
http://src.luxrender.net/luxblend25/

The communicating of this probably could have been better. ;)

Uhh, so if I built lux myself, will I have to make any changes to my updating script?

If you're using the very latest lux, luxblend25 and blender, everything should be just fine.

Alright, one more question though, before I updated Blender/Lux/etc, everything worked just fine, now it says it can't find my PyLux for some reason. Is there an issue somewhere in the update?

I'm just installing the blender 2.58a maintenance update and have a problem with the pylux.so.

System is Linux (PClinuxos 2011.6) Intel graphics, blender 2.58a update.
Latest luxblend (luxblend25-a2332b85da1b.tar.bz2) and pylux.so from
lux-v08-i686-sse2-NoOpenCL/pylux.so
Checked permissions and all "x" is showing.
Checked GLX as have had problems there, but all Ok.

Has been working Ok on 2.58, but blender has been flakey so installed the update ... and lost LUX (O no!)

hereś the error message,
found bundled python: /usr/local/src/blender-2.58a-linux-glibc27-i686/2.58/python
[Lux 2011-Jul-06 23:01:23] WARNING: Binary pylux module not available! Visit http://www.luxrender.net/ to obtain one for your system.
[Lux 2011-Jul-06 23:01:23] (ImportError was: cannot import name pylux

Thanks for ay assistance - will post on blender as well

I did everything you did. but I can't check the box in the preferences panel of luxrender.

Do you recognise this?

What did I do wrong?

Do you have the lightgroup problem?
I don't think I can help you there - if you have the right exporter for Blender 2.58 and LuxRender 0.8 I don't know what is causing the problem. For me it was gone after updating the exporter.
