This depends on you colorspace and white point settings. I.e. in sRGB colorspace with 6500K WP it really looks red, but in CIE colorspace with A (incandescent) WP it's orange.

In the GUI under "Color Space" you can change the whitepoint settings, there's some presets which include CIE A whitepoint. This should also be exposed in the exporter but I'm too lazy to look

Yeah, as mister lazy pants pointed out, the settings are in the GUI and also on the bottom of the LuxBlend's Output tab.

Haha no worries, it's not that I consider this a serious entry. I mean where's the ice?
On the other hand... maybe this is what one could get when mixing fire and ice

It's just a mesh that is scaled with dupliframes, to fake a volume, with a null material with textured emission. Then it is important to crank up the number of bounces and the instancing threshold, since instanced emitters are not allowed.

I wanted to do a dripping ice cube with this technique, but found out I lack the modelling skills and time to do it properly.

Not exactly sure how you all work this stuff out, but thanks for the 'lux firedrop' file thomas! Can make some sort of openEXR using your settings. Hoping to put something in this competition if I can find the time.
