Today I've added a MOD to the forum that should check new user registrations against known spammers DNS blacklists.

I hope this reduces spam and doesn't cause any legitimate users any inconvenience.

After getting a few emails just this week from people who were having trouble registering, today I have changed the forum to use the reCaptcha system instead of phpBBs default. It should be easier to read and just as hard for spambots, but if things get out of hand again I won't hesitate to re-instate the old system

If anyone has tried to register recently and couldn't - now would be the best time to try again ;)

fixed... dougal, is there a MOD which allows you to delete all the posts made by a user when banning (or as a separate moderator action)? Would be nice to get it all with one strike of the ban hammer :)

Not sure, but as an Administrator it is possible to delete a user and all their posts in one go. Perhaps a couple more of us need the power to be able to do that ?

Yes, that would be useful. I have been going through the process of deleting a user and then deleting multiple posts often enough to want the same kind of hammer Lord Crc is asking about. :)
