hi perpixel,
I'm trying to make a diamond material with lrGlass, max 2009-32
but it seams that playing around ior value does not produce any change.
the glass remain perfectly transparent without producing any reflection/refraction.
I try value from 2,447 to 24.

first - export can bug, which make by default glass material as architectural, i. e. thin wall with no IOR. Answer in change code:
Code: Select all
"bool architectural" ["true"]  - > "bool architectural" ["false"]

second - use as light mesh with light material or omni, no portal and skylight (constant lighting)
three - color your glass, no export with grey color on transmission and reflection.

I change your scene manually:

I'll check your scene, but no idea, maybe error in metal material?

Export Problems

Postby vertigo262 » Sun Sep 13, 2009 12:34 am

I'm testing out the LuxMax exporter with larger scenes and I am noticing their seems to be output problems.

The lxs file is about 50 megs. the scene is using the greeble modifier. I've done tests on smaller scenes with greeble and seems to work fine. I tried a couple export attempts. Each time getting different results. The picture below shows the 2 different exports. Vray handles the geometry fine. The export process takes approximately 5 minutes or so.

hope this helps

If your environment is a single large mesh, try breaking it in many different mesh. This can speed up the export quite a bit. Beside that, yes I need to optimize the export. Its normal that the file are big and that will never change.
