I didn't know that light has blob like nature (besides its corpuscular-wave dualism)
I wouldn't go for 3D version of the logo, cause it referes to diffraction of light rather than intersection of quicksilver drops.

it was a personal test on it...i agree

it should be best to get it B/N, more...classical , if i can say...more serious as well !
waiting for more opinion...but this n°2 looking really good and original ! (front of the other render's logotype)
