Jeanphi today changed some code that is c++11 exclusive and i adapted cmake accordingly.

Unfortunately i have now problems with lto in clang 3.9 and had to disable it. Anyway the unique_ptr seems to give
a good speedboost that smoothes my performance lost without lto. TODO

Also we have now: luxlex.cpp:1832:2: warning: 'register' storage class specifier is deprecated and incompatible with C++1z [-Wdeprecated-register]
Something to care about also.

EDIT: with clang3.7 lto works as before, with clang3.9 only with -flto=thin ( the new multithreaded, faster but a bit less effective lto ), so could be a compiler/linker bug.

Scattering volumes get very bright after a few minutes of rendering. It happens in path and bidir with homo- and heterogeneous volumes using multiscattering. Bidir will also show some black pixels after some time rendering. Using luxcore CPU. Multiscattering disabled seems to render correctly however.
Classic lux bidir as reference. It shows some artifacts too but never mind that. One thing at a time :)

Hi guys ! need your help. I'm expérimenting lot of crashes when i try to render with opencl device ( no matter it cpu or GPU ). here is the console message:

It is hard to say without having a test scene, you seem to have a lot of instances and the problem may be related to that aspect of the scene (i.e. disabling instances support may be a work around to the problem).

Hi all!

& Happy St. Martin's day... :D

Sorry to break the festivities but Lux is constantly crashing on me using HDRI Map with LuxRender Lamp: Hemi.
Small, large, exr, hdr... no matter. Only when OCL is used (either viewport or final), CPU works fine.
If i use HDRI Map on a sphere as LuxRender Light Emission, it works fine. Sun works fine, other Lamps also seem OK (tho no heavy use or in-depth testing done)

It works on my machine.
I downloaded the one from your equirectangular link, hope that's the one you used.
The scene needs about 930 MB or GPU RAM on my system.
Did you try using Sobol sampler instead of Metropolis? It only needs 600 MB of RAM here.

:) Yup, that's the one. & Thanks for the thought - "RAM" Solved it!

Basically crash was because GPU went out of memory & Blender is designed to remember. :D While i'm getting demential :lol:

note to self: stop forgetting - BLENDER REMEMBERS - SCENE FILE DATA IS STORED!
be sure to: CLEAN - SAVE - RESTART - FILE CAN BE CORRUPT FROM THE CRASH ITSELF

So after more testing and seeing you mention RAM i went deeper...

Oh, i remember. I also used another HDR (Autoshop Classroom from hdrvault.com - middle one on top row) which is bigger & runs fine for some time but crashes sooner or later (out of memory). After that i have tried any possible combination i could imagine, even with other, smaller HDR, and crashing only stops after Hemi Lamp is disabled. Somehow... yes, this could be it!"

Dots connected - logical conclusion...

After a crash, Blender remembered! Data is kept until orphans are slayed & file is re-loaded (MUST NOT CRASH!), since it was constantly crashing, either if final render (f12) or if viewport render (shift+z) was started. I cleaned the mess and is running fine ever since.

Sure it's a great guy here. I personnaly like the way he help me and everyone arround the forum. And the nice work done with luxcore blender exporter.

May have found a bug in Camera object > Lux Render Film: Transparent Film (active) /// Win 7, Blender 2.79, LuxCore 1.7 SDK Binary, latest LuxBlend
- Fresh scene: cube, plane, sun, camera
- With CPU & GPU, any engine, any sampler...

Don't use clamping with Biased Path engine - it produces visibly different tiles in final result/render!
