Well, there was one, but it hasn't been submitted to the contest gallery.

They win. I will recreate the gallery for that person, but unless the community decides to participate I don't think we should run another SLG competition.

Why not just allow entries using LuxRender or SLG in the next?

Because LuxRender != SLG. They are too different. SLG is not fully spectral, as I understand it there are materials limitations too. So, depending on the theme it could bias the results one way or the other. If we have a dispersion competition SLG is out, conversely if we have a roughglass competition SLG's speed would be an unfair advantage. These are extreme examples and not likely to happen but you get my point.

For you, I will open the competition one more time. However...if the SLG community chooses not to participate the SLG competitions will most likely be discontinued. It's sad, because I was really looking forward to the SLG entries.

I don't really know, but good work and interesting things show up now and again with SLG. Think people may be more focused on Luxrender, especially as it is developing pretty fast. But SLG can turn out very strong images, maybe partly because of it's limitations. You have to think simple, but this can be a help to produce very direct images.

I tried to enter the contest with a still of a Russian nuclear submarine firing a missile from the North Pole. I didn't get it done, however, since I'm pretty new at modelling using Blender. Oh well, maybe next year. :)
