and now as you can see from the above image the chamfercylinder isn't smoothed... but faceted.

Code: Select all

I'm not sure but I think..... because the "float uv" have 2 values per point while the "normal N" have 3 value per point like the "point P"

if you replace the value of "normal N" with the one of "float uv" one value is missing per point in the hacked "normal N" data
that's probably why we get:
[2010-09-14 17:58:15 Error: 43] Number of "N"s for mesh must match "P"s

Jeanphi, can you help telling me how I can pinpoint the problem? exactly what is going wrong?

Hi,

I gues the function you call to get the point coordinates applies the transform while the one you call to get the normal doesn't. I don't know 3DS API so I fear I can't of much more help here.

I've isolated the area in the code where the trouble is located.
Looking into it as best as I can.

nice to see you :)
since you and Hedphelym have limited time to spend on LuxMax..... it would be nice if both can contribute to LuxMax.
please consider mine only a wish, not a request.

cheers

I don't know if the problem is the same and related or something a bit different...
so please by attempting to solve the issue, consider that the chamferbox isn't rotated and have still some black faces, always the ones far from camera.
thank you in advance
