did it manually, I copied all the files, same result!

delete them all manually..... all. try to install them manually and restart max, maybe you have a conflict. between different versions installed.
install only the gplourde folder.

this is what I did, deleted all the files. Removed the menupoint. Copy the corresponding folders to the right locations. and it doesn't work. Everything seems fine but the material definition doesn't get generated.

do you have user access control enabled in windows?

No I don't have, I got only one user a general administrator, I have also started the demos manually and didn't give me any error.
Again, the slg starts, files are being written only the material definition have problems, don't you think it is related to the material or the material exporter part?

Can you upload a samplescene? One that you set up, so yhat we can test it and debug.

BTW what is the reason that the Luxrender material have preview and slg doesnt?

There seems to be something going on with the material export code in the latest version for SLG.
It does not export the material here either. I'll look at it when I get home today.
Should be easy to fix.
