Could be. Hybrid starts to pay off with high-poly scenes only, i won't use it for anything less than a few hundred thousand polys. In my experience Hybrid mode is best used with simple samplers (not MLT) on heavy scenes with moderately complex lightpaths (i.e. not too complex, but not just a couple of bounces too). Architectural exteriors visualization is the best application.

Which sampler do you use instead?

LowDiscrepancy for Hybrid Path or Random-Linear for CPU Path.

setting accelerator.qbvh.stacksize.max back to 24 in hybridsamplerrenderer.cpp makes it working.

It isn't a problem related to the GPU (or CPU) global ram but to the GPU local memory. GPU local memory is somewhat similar to CPU cache: it is very small (usually 48kbytes on NVIDIA GPUs and 64Kbytes on AMD GPUs).

Hi guys, I'm having the same problem LadeHeria described (except in Windows with the latest weekly build and a GT555M) and this sounds like a solution, but is this value accessible from anywhere but the sources? I see LadeHeria changed it directly in the source but unfortunately compiling is not an option for me at the moment. If I can do it editing the .lxs file let me know, I tried this but am not sure how to access it.

The best would be making it accessible in luxblend in the next version, but you guys know that :)

Nice renders are coming btw! Will post them on the finished section soon :) Meanwhile thanks for all the work on this guys, glad to be using Lux again after some time!
