LuxRender 0.9-dev Windows build of 03-11-2011

Postby Lord Crc » Thu Nov 03, 2011 2:36 pm

Fresh weeklies! Grab your fresh weeklies right here!

Not that many changes in terms of the core this week. Paco has continued improving his layered material, which should now handle specular materials better. I've also made a fix to the normal mapping code, which should make it handle scaling in the UV mapping properly.

The biggest change is perhaps in the packaging of these weeklies. I'm now including a zip file with up-to-date luxblend25, pylux and smoke dlls. This can be imported directly into Blender, or used for manual install. Please see the README file. Please note that I've named the file LuxBlend26dev to indicate that it's compatible with Blender 2.6x. Any feedback on this would be great.

These builds contain LuxRender, LuxConsole, LuxMerger, LuxBlend25 and Pylux for Blender 2.6x, and LuxBlend for Blender 2.49.
The NoOpenCL builds does not require any OpenCL driver or capabilities, but also does not use the GPU for the "hybrid" renderer.

Uh how i can remove the old luxrender version in the user preferences? I dont see there any "remove" buttons or have i only to uncheck the box?
Edit: If i only uncheck the box and install the new luxblend2.6 i get an error message that an older version is installed and maybe there are some code problems.

You have to update your exporter manually. Then just change the path to the latest luxrender build and save as your startup.blend.

If you click the disclosure triangle to expand the info of an add-on, there's a remove button. It won't work right unless you deactivate the old add-on and restart Blender first though. (it also needs to remove pylux from blender's memory).

I think it might only have appeared in 2.60 - are you using an older version?
EDIT: I checked, it appeared in 2.58a - which is now already 3 versions old :o
