Could also be due the unfinished volumetric stuff atm.

But too early to fill a matis-report i think, let´s wait for RC-phase.

What you can do in any case:

- use QBVH-accelerator ( should be 30% less mem-footprint than others )
- set intancing thresh to a lower value ( perhaps this default has changed ? )

OK, so i tested with the settings you suggested and it was even worse !
This time the memory footprint got up to 10+ GB !! :o

I guess i'll wait a little longer to test this 0.7 with heavy scenes ! ;)
Too bad as the lighting power seems to be a lot more "realistic" than with 0.6.1 where you have to put ridiculously low level in order to have a good looking lighting setup.

Anyway, it's great to be able to test 0.7 in its early stage, and it seems to be working already quite well on lightweight scenes. 8-)

Wierd, should be right the opposite :)

But as being in the middle of material-transitions and volumetric work, i would not take care atm.

Let´s see how it behaves when volumes + glass2 is finished.

Thanks a lot Jens for the builds you provide.
I'll test this one with my scenes to see how it behaves and report. :)

Hehe, i'm "here" wherever there is something related to 3D and render ! ;)
And LuxRender is one hell of a render engine, that's for sure ! 8-)

If you add the fact that it's interfaced with Cheetah, you get the picture ! :D
