I saw the new network parameters (servers list) of luxblend. Great feature I was waiting for a long time :D
Thanks !

Unfortunately, I tried the environment camera with bidir on a network render :
- 1 slave on Windows Server 2003 32bits
- 3 slave on Windows XP 64 bits

result : the three 64bits slaves crashes after a few samples/pixel, and the 32bits server is still alive :roll:

Could you try running a scene with an environment camera + bidir on the XP 64 systems directly, so not through the network? On OS X, the feature works on 32 bit systems but not on 64 bit systems.

jupp

1. Env-camera crashes only on 64bit.
Thread 19 Crashed:
0 org.luxrender.luxrender 0x00000001001ddb28 lux::FlexImageFilm::AddSample(lux::Contribution*) + 1240
1 org.luxrender.luxrender 0x00000001002a5130 lux::ContributionPool::Next(lux::ContributionBuffer*) + 400
2 org.luxrender.luxrender 0x00000001002a8205 lux::MetropolisSampler::AddSample(lux::Sample const&) + 1189
3 org.luxrender.luxrender 0x0000000100187d3e lux::RenderThread::render(lux::RenderThread*) + 3390
4 org.luxrender.luxrender 0x0000000100891445 thread_proxy + 117 (function_template.hpp:617)
5 libSystem.B.dylib 0x00007fff801c0e8b _pthread_start + 316
6 libSystem.B.dylib 0x00007fff801c0d4d thread_start + 13

Some values go out of scope ( ss, x,y,z from filtertable ? )

2. Ortho-camera don´t works with bidir + sun ( other lightsources do )

3. Incandescent2 spectrum refuses to work in OSX due a problem in exporter.
- Workaround atm: LuxBlend line 3594/3595
- lampstring = luxProp(mat, keyname+".lampstring", "Incandescent2")
- lamppreset = luxProp(mat, keyname+".lampspectrum", "PHILIPS [Argenta] 200W Incandescent Lamp")
+ lamppreset = luxProp(mat, keyname+".lampspectrum", "")
+ lampstring = luxProp(mat, keyname+".lampstring", "select spectrum")

Dunno what happens here, why default blocks export of itself and referring spectrum

So my new "funky path background" is normal? (See image other page.)
Cheers!

Of course that's not normal. :D

In order to find out what is wrong it would be helpful if you try a couple of things, for example remove the rim and see if the phenomenon still occurs. Or apply the modifier and see if it makes a difference. And try with a different light source to see if that changes anything. Or recreate the backdrop from scratch.

Abel,
environment camera crashes with bidir, directly without network render, and only in 64bits build :(
