Hi all,

Sorry for the long pause since the last update. I wanted to do a few more things for version 0.07, but didn't find the time to work on it, so I decided to release this version in the current state.

There is basically only one change: I have added a LuxC4D Material, which allows you to specify Lux materials directly. In C4D it renders black at the moment, but in Lux it renders alright of course.

Most of the colour channels have at least 4 parameters: "Colour", "Tex. Strength", "Texture" and "Brightness". Using "Tex. Strength" you can blend between the colour and a texture (if one is specified). "Brightness" then scales this colour/texture mix. "Tex. Strength" and "Brightness" are 100% by default.

Most of the other parameters (like IOR for example) have a field where you can specify its values as well as a scale texture which gets then multiplied with the value. This way you can define different values at different locations on the surface.

Just have a play with the Lux materials :) You can find the documentation of the materials in the Wiki:
http://www.luxrender.net/wiki/index.php ... _Materials

The translation was done by Spirou4D again and Forgeflow did some serious testing. A big thanks to both :)

The used sources for building the plugin: http://src.luxrender.net/luxc4d/archive ... 9d.tar.bz2

I have started to work on material mixing, i.e. alpha-channels, mix material and material stacking. This will be part of version 0.08.

Cheers and happy rendering,
Marcus

Hi there,

I am new to luxC4D, and maybe it is not the right post to comment.

Is there any way to export an animation from C4D into luxrender? I've been looking on the C4D render settings an in the luxrenderGUI and I can't find any buttons or way to export an animation. Is it possible?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Enric.

Sorry, not yet possible. As render times are still very long even for stills I'm concentrating on getting the materials lights, geometry/instances, settings right, before I start fiddling with animations. Hopefully I'm not too far away from that though.

Cheers,
Marcus

Hi all,

First of all, thank you Luxrender Team for the awesome piece of software - Luxrender!

My situation is the following:
I make a scene, i add lights (spot, area etc.) and export it from Cinema 4D to Luxrender. It renders just fine, but i see the black rectangles instead of area lights. However, the lighting of scenes are OK.

The question is, how can i overcome this issue?

Thank you very much in advance for help!

Materials Preview Problem

I have one more questions to you. When i add a LuxC4D Material to my scene, it just adds a black circle as a preview. In fact i can live with it, but there's another issue. Some materials do render just fine, some of them are white/grey in final renders. Is it OK?
