Export.?

Postby charlie31 » Mon Oct 10, 2011 12:56 pm

Hi! :)
I am a beginner and was wondering how to export movie files to AVI, MPG in V-Ray Render Using. It is only still images such as jpeg, jpg, vrmg, HDR, EXR, EXR (multi channel), TGA, BMP, and SGI. Have tried Render Using: Maya Software, and exported AVI there, but poor quality of the image without shadows. It is the black color in the air, instead of blue sky, it seems, when that is not V-Ray Sun and Sky does not work. Sets thank and appreciate the help! :) :)

You're probably better off asking this on CGTalk or something, rather than on a forum for another renderer that doesn't have anyone working on the Maya plugin. I've never used Vray before, but I've done an animation with mental ray before, so I'm gonna guess: Set render using > vray. Under render settings > common, set output type to whatever image format you like (PNG works best if you are going straight to a video file), then render > batch render. Then encode your sequence using some program that isn't Maya or V-ray. ffmpeg will do if you don't have anything else, although compressor or adobe media encoder will work too.

Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to thank you all graciously for the advice. I'm pretty terrible when it comes to video editing and video exporting/importing, so I can definitely appreciate the realistic viewpoint. Hopefully the people on CGTalk will be more helpful in the video editing sense. I have some targa sequences that I wanted to put together, after all. Thanks, folks!
